The Big Guns have carved a distinctive niche in the area music
scene by presenting an all-instrumental blend of ‘60s-era surf and
the catchy, haunting melodies that Ennio Morricone produced for
the famous Spaghetti Western movie series. Toss in the punchy
guitar sounds of Link Wray and the twangy pop of Duane Eddy, stir
it all up with a big helping of The Ventures’ James Bond and add a
dash of classic Duke Ellington and even some Beatles.  Now you’
ve got an authentic, guitar-driven aural experience unlike anything
to hit the Metroplex in… ever?

The band features lead guitars and founder
Mike Haskins who
achieved fame as guitarist for the Nervebreakers, a Dallas-based
band that toured and opened concerts for major acts including the
Sex Pistols, Police, Ramones, and The Clash during the New
Wave era of the early 1980s.

The Big Guns also features three additional players with significant
Texas-area experience –
Dan McCreary on guitar, Devin Gibson on
Drums, and
Jim Dale on bass.

The bands unique live shows keeps them busy performing at
various venues throughout the Dallas metroplex. The shows
feature guitar instumentals, some original and plenty of covers, that
float cleverly between the realms of Surf (The Ventures), Spaghetti
Western movie themes (Ennio Morricone), and Twang (Duane
Eddy, Link Wray). Very cool, and frequently "timelessly retro".
